Treasures among rubbles!
About 85% of earth's most valuable treasures are found among rubbles. Places you would never think twice that such could exist but they usually are. Things like Gold, diamonds, rubbies, Sapphire, Platinum, Emerald etc when found by some of us could affect our lifestyle, improve or destroy our relationships and definitely affect our status in society.
But wait, pause a bit, none of these jewels are appreciated in their natural states, some would even miss out on what they really are until we see them in their refined states. Yes refined! and mind you some of these refinement processes could totally destroy them or make them what they really are!
That is what God does with each and every one of us he calls by name. Consider this; gold undergoes mining ,grinding, separation and refinement. Once the gold ore has been mined, it is washed and filtered at the mine, combined with water and ground into smaller chunks. Smaller chunks, piece by piece. It is then separated from its ore through several processes:Floatation, cyanidation, and the carbon-in-pulp. Each of these processes are meant to separate the gold from its contaminants for it to be pure. If the gold is still not pure enough, it can be smelted. Smelting involves heating the gold with a chemical substance called flux. The flux bonds with the contaminants and floats on top of the melted gold. The gold is then cooled and allowed to harden in molds, and the flux-contaminant mixture (slag) is hauled away as a solid waste.
The essence of all this is to present the gold as it truly is; pure gold. We pass through similar processes. God call us out from this world's way and order. For as many as heed to this call, he washes us with the blood of his son Jesus Christ, the blood that justifies us from all accusations made by the enemy so that we are presented righteous before God.
Then comes the part we struggle with; SEPARATION. Though we are in the world we are not of this world. We need to be separated only to God from all attachments of sin that we easily fall prey to. Separation allows us to be pure in such a way that the real nature that God did make us are revealed. We become more like him, without sin. With more love, meekness and humility. If you were a liar, lying does not seem appealing to you any longer, fornicator? the things of God are your sole desires so you rarely have time to feed the sinful nature.
Then comes the smelting part (HEAT). The part that most of us don't want to undergo but its outcome is what proves our durability. Sometimes certain circumstances are thrown our way. The ones that make us uncomfortable, the ones that appear like a trap, no way out and the once that seem to have no solution at all......... God is not an unjust man, he's not even a man in the first place. He is the creator of the universe. The one who made us and knows what we are made up of. There is no way he is going to bring us something we cannot handle, but he needs enough heat for us to be the real us too. How many of us having come out of a particular challenge realise that we are much better, much wiser, much stronger than what we were before that challenge.
If we would also be honest with ourselves too some of us walk right into this challenge head on. Out of our own desires to satisfy ourselves neglecting God's own warning. For each path that we find ourselves on, there is always this light and lamp (His word) that directs us clearly what we should do but we neglect it. Even after we fall into these challenges he provides a way of escape for us. There is always this unnoticed door or way out that we only notice when we come to the realisation that God is our help and the challenge is supposed to make us not break us.
Its not easy, but the creator of the universe knows exactly what we are. We are gold, diamonds, some are sapphires and the list goes on. But since we seem to have forgotten or not living to our full potential, we become weak, unpure and with time melt along with the impurities(worldly nature) in such a way that we are unnoticed and often trampled upon. Allow God to make you today, to refine you. To turn you into that which you are so that your full potential is realised.
